Tupac Amaru Shakur, also known by his stage names 2Pac and Makaveli, was a famous West Coast rapper often embroiled in verbal battles between himself and East Coast rapper The Notorious B.I.G.

Shakur's work is known for advocating political, economic, social and racial equality in songs such as "Brenda's Got A Baby." He also touched upon the raw, violent life of the streets in "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted."

His life cut short in a drive-by shooting in the early 90's, 2Pac has stunned audiences with his amount of posthumous releases. He is considered one of the greatest rappers of all time.
