Mitchell Bernal is responsible for creating the sensation known as Skelanimals. Skelanimals are cute, adorable animals with exposed bone structure (to suggest dead animals) and have become a hit at Hot Topic stores across the country amongst teenage girls.

Bernal has even published a book entitled "Skelanimals: Dead Animals Need Love Too." The names of some his skelanimal characters include: Dax (the dog), Pen (the penguin), Dee (the deer), Matt (the mouse), Quackee (the duck) and Oliver (the owl).
